Xinmin Primary School was founded on the Children's Day of the year of 1952. In that year, the kindergarten was first established and it was named Xinmin Kindergarten. This kindergarten was registered under the school board in 1963.

In 1976, our school's name is changed to Taipei Xinmin Primary school by the government order and it is officially included in the primary education system .
